In honor of International Women’s Day, we wanted to highlight the amazing culinary contributions of two super important people at Snap kitchen.
Meet Chef Lorena Basteris and Dietitian Amy Davis. This clever culinary duo, they’re the masterminds behind all of Snap Kitchen’s healthy and delicious meals.
Lorena Basteris, Director of Culinary
Born and raised in Mexico, Lorena has been cooking for her family since she could pull up a stool at the stove. In 2013, she took a leap of faith: she sold her car and packed her bags for Texas to pursue a career in food and nutrition and has never looked back. Lorena brings almost a decade of experience as a trained chef and culinary educator and a unique zest for culinary genius! In her free time, Lorena loves hiking and walking trails with her three boys (husband, baby, and pup).
Favorite Snap Kitchen meal? “Peppercorn Steak with Tricolor Potatoes – that plus a glass of pinot noir – all my favorite flavors!”
Amy Davis, Lead Registered Dietitian
Born and raised in “The Big Easy” – Amy’s food philosophy is all about embracing the joyful influences that food has on our culture, our traditions, and our lives. She’s passionate about using her education and experience to help people discover that food can be delicious AND nutritious through her nutritional counseling, recipe development, and recipe analysis – and giving people the tools and some inspiration to reach a happy, healthy, and balanced lifestyle.
Favorite Snap Kitchen meal? “Cacio e Pepe with Rosemary Chicken. You just can’t beat the combination of gluten-free pasta, parmesan cheese, and high-quality extra virgin olive oil. Perfection!”
