Thinking about completing Whole30 as a team? Regardless of whether it’s with family, friends or your significant other, there are some serious benefits to having an in-house support system (well, besides us of course 😉) to rally you on for the next 30 days. Studies have shown that having a supportive community is an important part of any health journey. Getting your squad together helps inspire you on days when you need a little bit more motivation. Today we’re sharing some tips for completing a successful Whole30 together.
Set and share clear intentions from the start.
Before getting into the fun of planning and prepping (which, we’ve got you covered on anyway 👋), think about what you want to get out of the next 30 days and be open to sharing them with each other. Communication = KEY to a successful 30 days with each other. This sets the tone for when days get tough and puts into consideration what support can look like on hard days.
Ask each other what would be the most beneficial ways to keep each other accountable and be upfront about the personal goals you might have. This gives both parties perspective and helps prevent any misunderstandings that might happen.
And if you’re more of the competitive type, a little friendly competition might also keep motivation high! Set challenges with each other (like drinking an extra cup of water each day) and check-in frequently to see how implementing these healthy habits benefit everyone during the next 30 days.
Make meal planning FUN.
By keeping foods and a menu you look forward to around the kitchen, you’re more likely to stick with your new habits. Take out the dullness of meal planning (say goodbye to the same options everyday!) and schedule a time each week to choose recipes everyone can look forward to. Besides, let’s be real: it’s 2018 and planning delicious, Whole30 compliant food is as easy as ordering on your phone and getting it delivered to you – without the chopping, cleaning, or struggling to find a grocery store parking spot on a Sunday night. There’s never been a more convenient way to stay on track AND we even have plenty of snack options. (Because snacks = fun!)
Use social opportunities to try something new.
Food is certainly a large part of social activities these days and, while we love a good gathering with great food, this is also an awesome opportunity to create memories outside of dining or drinking. Need a sign to rally your friends together for that hiking or kayaking trip? This is it! Think about the activities around town that you’ve always wanted to do and go for it.
Schedule weekly date nights in.
While the initial thought of completing Whole30 might sound intimidating especially to those who love dining out, we make it easy by giving you the flexibility to curate meals you crave even more than your favorite takeout. This a great opportunity to switch up the usual date nights while letting us take care of the meals AND dishes for you. Planning date nights in can help save some serious cash and take the stress out of sticking to a Whole30 approved menu while eating out. Particularly with your significant other, working together on accomplishing something is a great way to further strengthen your relationship.
Plan a celebration afterwards together.
Connecting an event to a specific date after the 30 days can help remind both parties that a celebration is on the horizon. Maybe it’s a weekend getaway, a spa day, or perhaps it’s just a toast to accomplishing something together. While health and lifestyle goals might look different between everyone, sharing a celebration date together provides a similar sense of purpose to remind each other that we’re in this together!
