How long have you been a Dallas resident?
I moved to the DFW Metroplex in 2004 (Lewisville), relocated to Oak Lawn in 2008, and have been in the downtown area of Dallas since.
What’s your favorite thing about the Oak Lawn neighborhood?
Location and convenience. It’s just outside of downtown, borders the Katy Trail and the Turtle Creek parks, and has the largest urban park in the city (Reverchon). You can find just about every type of cuisine within a few blocks – sushi, Thai, Tex-Mex, Chinese, pizza, Italian, southern home style, burgers, subs, and more. There are also so many bars and clubs within a short distance from each other, many within walking distance on Cedar Springs. For groceries, we have Whole Foods and two Krogers. We have access to two major highways, I-35E and the Tollway. Plus every other daily need – gas stations, florists, dry cleaners, banks, and more. It’s just easy and convenient to live in Oak Lawn. Not to mention a lot of fun!
What’s your go-to Snap meal and why?
My go-to Snap meal is the bison quinoa hash. After a workout at the gym, it has the most calories and lots of lean protein! Plus, it basically tastes like a deconstructed cheeseburger.
When you’re not cooking because you’re eating Snap, where can we find you?
If I have a busy day helping two clients find a place to live, you’ll often find me eating Snap as I run to meet the second client. One time I was touring two wonderful ladies up at several apartment communities in the The Shops at Legacy and we all needed to eat but didn’t have a lot of time. I took them in to the Snap Kitchen. It was their first time – and they loved it!
How do you see Snap fitting in Oak Lawn?
Snap Kitchen is going to be a great addition to Oak Lawn! The residents of Oak Lawn tend to eat a little healthier and be a little more conscious of the food that they eat. This includes everyone, gay or straight. And we tend to live very full and busy lives! Snap offers healthy choices and quality ingredients at good prices. The fact that you can walk in, grab, and go – this is going to work really well for people in Oak Lawn!
